So, on the 28th or March 2008, three crusaders made their way to Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School for the Round III of the Julia Gabriel Secondary School's Debating Competition. They were accompanied by their 4 huge suporters, Hui Wen, LSE, Tiky and Charmaine.

Their opponents were Manjusri Secondary.

I'm proud to say....that...we...

WHOO. WHOO. *jump jump hyper hyper*

Yes, we even did a little victory dance in the school canteen.

And guess what? M sec school deviated from the motion by talking about Pre-marital sex and pornography.

Our next debate will be at (y'know I still don't know where it's taking place, but it's going to be a LOT nearer to TKGS then previous time. )

So it's 7.15 pm against Manjusri Secondary School THIS FRIDAY.

We are the Proposition again, with the motion : This House believes that all forms of art should not be subjected to censorship.

HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED, PLEASE LEAVE SOME POINTS AND ELABORATION (I'm sure you all know the PEEL format by now) ON THE TAGBOARD!!!

The Toothbrush and the Toilet Seat
Or the romancing of lovesick lavatory appliances
by Tiky and Bernie

The toothbrush and the toilet seat
Marched to quite a different beat
Two bathroom dwellers; different but in love
Everybody disagreed
This was peculiar, strange indeed
But they knew this was a match sent from above.

Alas, fate had a different plan
The house’s little toddler, Jen
Wasn’t quite as adept and dexterous
The poor toothbrush fell in the bowl
And got flushed down the potty hole
The seat wept, for this was indeed … disastrous.

Out of heartbreak, he split in two
Because of his defect, they threw him away
But fate had them meet each other once more
In a huge rubbish dump that lay offshore
And they remained together, up till today.

On 7 March, the Debate team (Deepika, Natalie and Bernadette) went for the second round of the quarter finals of the Julia Gabriel Competition.

The debate team had won the first round as the other team (Beatty Secondary B team) did not turn up. Walkover win, sheesh. I mean, this was supposed to be our first try at a debate. The motion was "This House would ban violent video games", with TKGS as the Proposition. Noooo.... I so do not agree even after doing countless hours of research into this...

The motion for the second round was "This House believes that elite sportsmen should receive government funding", TKGS being the opposition, and Temasak Secondary as the proposition. TKGS lost.

I can say no more... Except I was extremely disapointed.

May I suggest that we bring a video camera for future debate competitions so that we can view ourselves speaking?

BTW, in case you haven't realised, the italics is Natalie speaking.
